So I was wondering...what do you guys do when not playing? What is your career?

I've working in one place for almost 20 years :shock: and I assist a few people in supporting the branch environment. Looking at the network and keeping it up. Also..pro-active and re-active branch visits ensuring the IT systems are up and running and to pick up any possible issues that could become a problem. So there is a bit of travelling involved.

IT Supervisor / Manager... I'm in charge of a IT Service Desk (21 people) that support 3700 people...

That's actually an excellent ratio..it must work well

Product Manager of Personal Systems and Storage Group @ Rectron. I do all price negotiations & purchases for Cape Town and PE and try to make sure we don't screwed on SA's volatile ROE.

Yea it does... but when you supporting accountants... it seems that you can never have enough

I'm one of the directors/owners of an IT company that provide software and services to various companies.
The software includes, amongst other things, service desks, desktop management tools and infrastructure / network management.
We've been going for 2 1/2 years and have some large clients including telcos, banks and outsourcers.

Now this is nice, i think we all can get some business opportunities between each other on DAC Site.

I work for my family as a salesmanager. Were a hi-fi retail store that specialises in top end home theatre equipment. i.e Denon, AR,AE,Sherwood,boston etc.

After being retrenched the second time I said screw this I'll do the retrenching from now on. :x
I opened my own graphic design shop. So far so good. Been open for 4 years now and have retrenched zero people
