Spicing things up.
Ok, so let's face the facts that BF2142's popularity is waning. There are new players every night but within the clan the excitement seems to be....well....let's say "not high".
It's time to add a little spice to the game play and I have a few suggestions that I'd like the rest of you to consider.
1. BUD has a fun idea where one player changes their clan tag to start with "K". The person who takes that player's tags then get's the K and is pursued by the rest. The idea being to see how many days/rounds you can last with the K.
Yes / No ?
2. We all agree that we need to recruit new players and as admins we’ve been discussing it for some time. My opinion is that we are not looking for people with K/D over 1 or a minimum rank. I’d be keen to let anybody join. Time will sort out who stays and goes. In some cases we may need to help them leave……
Yes / No ??
3. A clan is based on spirit / gees and I think we have loads of that. It would be great to work together to help each other out. I love stats and awards. To be honest, I got to Brigadier General purely by consequence. My goal has always been to get as close as I can to getting all the medals and badges I possibly can.
For example one of our members, Biff MacDoo, needs a gold medic badge. We all play in a squad and he heals us all the time. I’m not talking stat padding, I’m talking teamwork and helping our fellow clan mates. Let us know what you’re working towards at the moment and we can help each other out. If we are seen as a clan that works together to obtain goals people will want to join and we’ll have a very active clan. Yes / No???
BTW, I need 5 kills with a pistol IOR…… Help by res-ing me all the time please.....

Re: Spicing things up.
Suggestion 1: You're it...
Suggestion 2: I recommend that we take in players with spirit... the probation period of 3 months will iron out the ones we want and the ones we dont want.
(A lot of players are not willing to join a clan as they see it as a major commitment, so maybe we offer a casual players and a competitive team?)
Suggestion 3: I like the idea... we should just get some clarity on the stat-padding view from an admin, so we dont cross the wrong line!.
Other than that... BF2142 all the way!!!

Re: Spicing things up.
"What is Stat Padding:
Also known as "point farming", stat padding is most frequently used in reference to the online game Battlefield 2. Stat padding is the act of recieving undeserved points due to abnormal and unhelpful gameplay.
One of the most common occurrences is when 2 support players go out to the middle of nowhere and alternate tossing a grenade, then resupplying the other, each time getting 1 resupply point.
The extreme of stat padding is when a player coordinates with one or more players on the opposite team to get an enormous amount of kills. For example, a USMC player hides away with 2 MEC medics. The US player will kill one of the medics, then the other will revive him, earning the US player 2 points for a kill, and the MEC player 1 point for a revive, all undeserved. This process can be repeated indefinitely, as the kill does not reduce the ticket count of the other team. This is how some players have best round scores of 800+.
Some players consider skill concentration to be stat padding, but this is simply not true. Running around wielding only a pistol in order to get a pistol badge is NOT stat padding. " - Urban Dictionery
This is a BF2 example but the same applies to 2142.
Dont even try it, you'll get banned so fast it will make your head spin!!

Re: Spicing things up.
right away.... all BF2142 players... be on the look out for players...
Invite them to come on board to the social team... those that want to move up to the competitive team are more than free to do so

Re: Spicing things up.
As I see the stat padding issue it's all about "Stat padding is the act of recieving undeserved points due to abnormal and unhelpful gameplay."
We should ensure that we always play ethically and that anything we do is for the good of the whole team and not just our squad, clan members or individuals.
I'll be on late tonight as I'm off to gym first. But when I log on you'll see a little dagger added to my tag ( --|==> ). Try take it !!!!

HAHAHHA I'm sure you're right, this idea of yours will certainly make it very interesting on the servers in future. Keep us updated as to who has the knife tag please.
Re: Spicing things up.
Smaug.... maybe create a forum topic... that only shows the tracking of the knife tag.
Re: Spicing things up.
Smaug, one tip, if they come running with their knifes, TAKE OUT THE SHOTTY AND BLOW THEM AWAY!!
